Theme
The title Esqueleto Explosivo translates as Exploding Skeleton, which may give you a clue about what to expect. The introduction kicks in with a mariachi band and an explosion of fireworks glittering over a Mexican city before panning down to reveal the reels. These consist of a tower of Day of the Dead decorated skulls resting upon the bones of a skeleton band, which strikes up to play when a win is landed. Rather than spin, the skulls tumble to the floor, roll away and are replaced by a different set of bones.
Dropping Symbols
One of the main features in this game is the dropping symbols. Any symbols used to form part of a winning combination disappear and others drop down to fill the spaces. This offers players a second chance to win. For each consecutive win made using dropping symbols, the multiplier will be increased, up to a maximum of 32x.
Exploding Wild
While each of the skull symbols has been given its own colour of make up, only one symbol is made of pure gold. This quiffed skull dons its sunglasses and acts as the wild. However, this isn’t just any old wild symbol. As well as substituting for any other symbol, the wild will explode whenever it pops up, taking the eight surrounding symbols with it. This allows the dropping symbols to make an appearance and provide another shot at a winning combination. Not only that but the multiplier is increased every time the exploding wild turns up.
Verdict
One thing you’ll notice about this slot is the lack of a free spins bonus feature. However, the exploding wilds and dropping symbols quite literally fill the gap nicely and players are given plenty of opportunities to win without dipping into their budget. Esqueleto Explosivo is a very cool game with an interesting theme and plenty to keep players entertained.
