The following day Narinder Nagra, Parq’s director of resort marketing, said the company was looking into the incident. We know what that means, somebody’s head is going to roll after this embarrassing incident.Then a few hours later Parq Vancouver released an official statement saying,“Parq Vancouver is sorry to hear about this experience and takes these matters very seriously. We are required to adhere to strict regulations with respect to gaming in British Columbia,” Nagra went on to say, B.C. recently implemented new rules to crack down on money laundering requiring gamblers provide a “source of funds declaration,” including a receipt that shows financial institution, branch number and account number, for cash transactions exceeding $10,000 in a 24-hour period.Parq Vancouver would not confirm if those regulations were involved in the incident.“We are actively investigating this matter and have made several efforts to reach out to the customer and his team to discuss the issue. We are committed to having a productive conversation to resolve this issue,” Nagra said.But according to Drake he had provided the required documents and verification to continue gambling.
The aftermath of the incident
Drake has over 50 million followers on instagram. In other words, that’s over 50 million people in Canada and around the world who now have a bad impression of Parq Casino. That may well equate to a big blow for the Vancouver based Casino over the future months.Paq Vancouver did issue an apology but I know if I was asked to stop gambling I would be outraged.
