Last year’s winner of the Best Virtual Football Product price at the SBC Awards, Golden Race, has obtained a license from the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) to operate in the UK.Golden Race has been moving into the European market over recent years, having already gained the necessary licenses to operate in Italy and Malta amongst other jurisdictions.

Speaking of the license agreement, Golden Race said that it was “immensely prod and excited” to have the opportunity to operate in the UK market, with company CEO and Founder, Martin Wachter, adding:“Based on our long-term relationships with UK operators, we are quite confident that Golden Race will become one of the main virtual sports partners in the country.”
Euro Champions
Moving into more regulated markets is a key part of the business strategy of Golden Race, who enhanced their European facing products with the recent addition of a new virtual football title, Euro Champions, which is inspired by the world famous UEFA Champions League.At this point, Golden Race’s Euro Champions games, while being available across desktop mobile, and tablet devices, are only available via Android, Linux, and Windows, but the company has not ruled out the possibility of expanding its online platform to cater for other products.Virtual sports has undergone something of a revolution over recent years thanks to technological advancements allowing for smoother and faster gameplay, as well as more impressive graphics and animations.Golden Race are clearly trying to get themselves to the forefront of virtual sports across Europe, and this new license from the UKGC, one of the most respected regulators in the world, is likely to assist with this plan.We can safely assume this will not be the last regulated market that Golden Race enters as it continues its expansion across global regulated markets.
