If you are a fan of the television show Vikings (and let’s face it, who isn’t?) then there is some huge news coming from everyone’s favourite prolific Swedish iGaming software developer, NetEnt.Not only is the popular provider going to be developing a slot game based around Netflix’s Narcos, in almost the same breath, they announced a deal with A+E Networks to bring Vikings to the slot world, something that is expected to happen before the end of 2018.
What to expect
With the release date still a fair way off, there’s very little that we know about what this slot will include, but CPO at NetEnt, Henrik Fagerlund, is clearly feeling positive about what is to come, saying:“To be able to provide our players with a different genre of branded game, showcases the hard work we’re putting in behind the scenes to create such high-quality content and further expand our portfolio…“Vikings has quickly become a TV favourite since the first season in 2013 and appeals to a vast audience worldwide. It’s a classic and historical theme packed with action and we’re sure the players will be looking forward to the launch later this year.”
Big year
NetEnt are always aiming for the stars, but 2018 seems to be an aspirational year even by the popular developer’s standards, and it’s paid off, with the Live Beyond Live collaboration with Mr Green on the cards, and picking up the Online Casino Supplier award at the Global Gaming Awards earlier this year.Add to that the impressive collection of games that the company have released, those on the roadmap for the next few months, and Narcos and Vikings on the horizon, and this may just be the biggest year that NetEnt has ever had, which is really saying something!
