Yggdrasil have been flying for a long time now, having swiftly flown to the top of the pack amongst software developers, which is far from easy given the ridiculously competitive nature of the industry.Yggdrasil got there by taking risks and having fun, and that’s what they’re continuing to do with their newest slot, Hanzo’s Dojo, which sees the developer go in yet another new direction in terms of design and concept.
About the slot
With five reels and 25 paylines, Hanzo’s Dojo is playable from 25p to £125 a spin and is based on legendary samurai Hattori Hanzo. As the name suggests, the slot is set in Hanzo’s Dojo, where several fighters including a samurai, a ninja, a fan fighter, and a sumo meet to take part on a battle for supremacy. The fighters play the part of the highest value symbols on the reels, while lower values are cards with themed imagery on including bonsai trees and wind.Even for Yggdrasil, this is a pretty slot, managing to affectionately and respectfully replicate and bring to life the source material with style.
Gameplay
There are a few fun features here, including the Rooftop Slot feature, where an extra mini reel set above the regular reels will spin with various mystery symbols being involved, allowing access to the Free Spins feature and adding an extra feature to the round. The Free Spins feature is trigger by three or more scatters landing on the reels. You get three spins for each scatter, four if it is a Dragon scatter, which also gives an extra feature.Features that can be included with the free spins are multipliers, wild reels, a Colossal Symbol nudge feature, and many more.Yggdrasil at its best, Hanzo’s Dojo is stunning to look at and excellent to play.
