One of the world’s most innovative casino software providers, Playtech, has introduced a new split symbol feature into some of their slot titles. By developing pioneering features such as this, Playtech ensures that it stays at the forefront of an increasingly competitive market.

Split Symbol Feature

The first game to get the split symbol feature is Blade, a video slot game which forms part of Playtech’s popular Marvel Movies superhero series. The Blade Symbol Split Feature can only land on Reel 5, and when it does so, the last symbol in any winning combination gets split in half and counts as two symbols, giving you six symbols per payline, from five reels. For example, if the A symbol lands on Reels 1, 2, and 3, and the Blade Symbol lands on Reel 5, Blade appears and rips his sword through the A symbol on Reel 3, creating two smaller A symbols on the same reel.Archer is the second slot game to get Playtech’s new split feature, but it works slightly differently. It’s not a branded game, but its entire theme is based around the legend of Robin Hood. The symbols include characters such as Robin Hood, Maid Miriam, and Friar Tuck.Split symbols in Playtech slot games

New Ways To Win

In this game, the split feature is very different. When symbols land on the reels with an arrow border, are part of a winning combination, and there is a scatter symbol, the symbols expand vertically across the three rows. They don’t replace the existing symbols, but similarly to how the feature works on Blade, they will share the spot on the reel with the second symbol. This increases chances to win as either or both of the symbols can form a winning combination. Both Blade and Archer are now live across all Playech online casinos.
