John Hagan, the Chairman of the Industry Group for Responsible Gambling (IGRG), has described the second annual Responsible Gambling Week, which is due to take place between November 1st and 7th (2018), as the biggest conversation that has ever taken place with customers.

John Hagan, the Chairman of the Industry Group for Responsible Gambling (IGRG), has described the second annual Responsible Gambling Week, which is due to take place between November 1st and 7th (2018), as the biggest conversation that has ever taken place with customers.The Group that Hagan heads is organising the event, and the industry as a whole is working together to ensure it is a success.rgamingweekThe eventResponsible Gambling Week is taking place in the United Kingdom and Ireland this year, making it larger and further reaching than the previous event.Hagan explained the aims and ambitions of the event, saying:“For 2018, we will be seeking to broaden the Week’s base of supporters and make use of communication networks, both traditional and digital, to have a conversation with a wider audience and raise awareness, continuing the “Let’s talk” theme of 2017.”Let’s Talk About Responsible GamblingThe objective of the event, which is part of the Let’s Talk About Responsible Gambling campaign, is to start, and continue a conversation about safe ways to protect oneself when gambling, and raise awareness of the tools in place to assist with responsible gambling.The IGRG will use their social media channels and other platforms to promote the event, while there will also be shopfront takeovers at bookmakers as well as messages at bingo venues and interaction from players from casino staff to discuss the event and its aims.Speaking optimistically of the event, Hagan continued:“The industry is often given a hard time in the media, but I know there is a lot of good work going on behind the scenes and this week is an opportunity for operators to have a positive conversation with customers, their families and their friends about how to gamble responsibly.”
