Popular Swedish Software provider NetEnt have blasted Play N Go over their forthcoming slot release Starblast. Judging by the name alone it’s similar to Starburst, one of NetEnt’s most iconic slot game and one of the most played slot games in history.

AWOL

Sources have revealed that Starblast was due to be released on the 20th March 2019, all reference to the game has been removed from Play N Go’s website. It has been revealed that NetEnt were furious Play N Go would blatantly release a slot game so similar in name and nature to their iconic slot game Starburst.Starblast is almost like for like in gameplay to NetEnt’s Starburst. There are 5 reels and 10 paylines, spins costing between 10p and £100, symbols on the reels being gemstones and the theme is of space orientation, making the game near on identical.Play N Go’s Starblast Goes AWOL Amidst Dispute With NetEnt

Subtle Difference

There are a few subtle differences however in the bonus rounds, there are Wilds the same as Starburst but they only show on reels 2, 3 and 4, the wilds when landed will expand over the whole reel triggering the re-spins feature. Keep landing wilds and the re-spins keep coming. With the re-spins there’s multipliers, offering up to 9x multipliers on wild wins, this is where the game is slightly different to Starburst. Wins can be as much as 4,000 coins, making Starblast a little more generous (only just!).We are not sure at present what will happen with the infamous Starblast. Maybe they will re-brand the slot game under another title, who knows, it will be interesting to see what both parties have to say on this matter.
