Less than two weeks after launching their latest branded slot, Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, Swedish software developer NetEnt have pulled the slot temporarily due to potential responsible gambling issues regarding player’s stakes.

“Internal Concerns”

A leaked email stated “internal concerns” to betting mechanics incorporated in NetEnt’s latest slot release. In a statement, NetEnt’s Head of Communication, Victor Melander confirmed NetEnt had taken the steps to remove the game temporarily offline and the email read,“ We have identified a potential situation whereby player staking behavior could impact the intended gameplay experience on our recent release Street Fighter II: The World Warrior slot. Please be assured that to date the game has been performing within the expected parameters in respect to the certified math model and RTP on a network level. We have taken the decision to implement the following steps: 1: In the coming hours, we will temporarily disable Street Fighter II slot in production 2: Ours teams have already identified a fix that will prevent this issue from occurring, and we are in the process of implementing this. Once this game is certified by our test house, we will make it available to you. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused. And rest assured we are working hard to get this game back up and running for you as soon as possible.”

Complicated Gameplay

Before it’s release, players were hotly anticipating the the latest NetEnt offering but quickly realised the game was far more complicated than first thought. Some Youtube visitor’s commented,“ If anybody out there knows wtf is going on with that game please apply for the post neo physicist at your local job centre”Another said,“ I don’t understand this game and don’t like watching it.”Although the slot is still available to play as a demo on NetEnt’s official site it has disappeared from all casinos offering NetEnt games. Hopefully, the blip will be ironed out soon but I do think it may have impacted players wanting to continue playing Street Fighter II: The World Warrior slot as it just didn’t live up to players expectations.
