If you are a fan of epic films from the 1980, then there’s a high chance that you’re a big advocate of the 1986 classic, Highlander, starring Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery, Roxanne Hart, and more about the battle between immortal warriors. There’s no doubt that the movie has a theme that would translate beautifully to a slot game if it was developed right, and to be developed right, you’d need the right people in chance.Luckily, Microgaming have announced that they have signed a licensing agreement that will allow them to develop a slot based on the Highlander, and based on previous efforts on similar themes from the software giant, that’s great news all round!Microgaming Gains Rights to Highlander Slot Concept

About the slot

After the agreement was signed between Microgaming and Studiocanal, a deal that was brokered by the Creative Licensing Corporation, work began quickly, and the Highlander slot is due for release on December 6th (2017).The five-reel, 243 ways to win slot will feature the main characters from the film, but that’s about as much detail on gameplay as we have at this point. However, David Reynolds, Games Publisher at Microgaming did share some information about what to expect from Highlander:“Highlander is seen as one of the great cult hits of the 80s. With its action-packed storyline and hefty rock inspired composition, it is a fantastic brand for an online slot. The game studio is busy completing the slot that captures all of the movie magic. The game’s features will incorporate the historical Scottish Highlands and gritty New York City, with a classic movie poster art style and blistering guitar tracks.”It looks like Microgaming are going full epic for this slot, meaning this may be one of the loudest and most exciting Decembers the slot world has ever had!
