Microgaming Celebrates 20 Successful Years in the Isle of Man

In April 2001, Microgaming made the decision to move its operations to Douglas in the Isle of Man. 20 years later the company has grown exponentially creating many jobs and invesments in many community projects.

In April 2001, Microgaming made the decision to move its operations to Douglas in the Isle of Man. 20 years later the company has grown exponentially creating many jobs and investments in many community projects.

Community Project Investments

Over the past two decades, Microgaming has invested a great deal in local community projects and donated £3.5 million to local community initiatives including healthcare projects worth £875,000.Microgaming’s PlayItForward initiative launched in 2014 and has since supported 100’s of causes under the umbrella of People, Place and Planet. Microgaming staff carefully choose areas in the community they feel would benefit from their support each month. To date, Microgaming staff have donated 3,000 hours of voluntary work in the community.

Microgaming has created sponsored events in the community through its PlayItForward initiative including the Microgaming Lighthouses and the Microgaming Douglas Soapbox Race, which includes 100’s of entries and spectators every year. Microgaming also supports gifted students with Education Bursary’s where 24 young Isle of Man youths receive financial assistance with living costs.Over the years, Microgaming’s team has increased from the initial 5 to a healthy 180+ all of which are experts within the industry. The company moved to new purpose-built offices across from their initial headquarters in 2017. The new offices have been built with environmental objectives in mind. They received a five-star rating from BREEAM, a world leader in sustainability for buildings. In 2020 received an environmental system certification further sealing its sustainability efforts.Microgaming’s CEO John Coleman said, “We’ve come a long way since putting down roots here in 2001. What began as a handful of people all those years ago has flourished into a diverse, talented and passionate team, and I’m proud of the success and growth we have achieved together. I’m also proud of our collective commitment to supporting the island’s community, and that the local community has engaged so actively with the various events we support.”
