The UK Gambling Commission has taken decisive action against In Touch Games, leading to the suspension of its three operating licenses. The regulatory body has expressed concerns over the company’s potential unsuitability to conduct licensed activities. Immediate concerns that triggered this suspension revolve around suspected non-compliance with license conditions. Specifically, the Gambling Commission has highlighted issues related to anti-money laundering protocols, the transparency of terms and practices, and the timely reporting of significant events. The suspension, which takes effect immediately, will persist while the Commission undertakes a comprehensive review of In Touch Games and its operations, as per sections 116 and 118 (2) of the Gambling Act 2005. In Touch Games holds British licenses that encompass online casinos, bingo, and gambling software. Their portfolio includes notable brands such as Bonus Boss, Cashmo and mfortune to name a few. The Commission has emphasised that during this suspension period, the primary focus of the operator should be on fair consumer treatment and transparency in its communication regarding any impactful developments.

The Betting and Gaming Council Drops In Touch Gaming Membership

In a subsequent move, the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) has also announced the suspension of In Touch Games as a member, aligning with its stringent membership and standards rules. The BGC’s statement emphasized its commitment to upholding the interests of In Touch Games’ customers. This suspension follows a hefty fine of £6.1m imposed on In Touch Games by the Commission in January this year. The fine was a result of multiple social responsibility and money laundering failures identified by the regulator. The company had previously failed a compliance assessment in March 2022, leading to this punitive action. The identified failures ranged from inadequate customer interactions and unverified income claims to lapses in anti-money laundering protocols. The actions taken against In Touch Games underscore the Gambling Commission’s commitment to ensuring a safe and compliant gambling environment in the UK. The developments serve as a reminder to all operators OF the importance of adhering to regulatory standards and prioritising customer welfare.
