Unibet are preparing to provide the Responsible Gambling Trust (RGT) with their customer data so it can be used in a study exploring the causes of problem gambling. The study is particularly interested in online gambling and so the Unibet will supply data from their online bingo, casino, sports betting and poker platforms.
Online gaming Study
Sophro Ltd has been asked to conduct the study, which is the third instalment of a larger study into online gaming. The RGT hopes that the study will reveal more than previous studies, with the aim being to look at less subjects but in more detail.Dr Jonathan Parker, founder and director of Sophro, has said they hope to create a clear social insight into problem gambling. “The project will contribute to the groundwork for more effective harm minimisation in remote gambling,” he explained.Meanwhile, The Chief Executive of RGT, Marc Etches, said of Unibet’s participation “we are delighted that Unibet has agreed to provide access to the player data necessary to make this research possible.”
