21 Casino is operated by White Hat Gaming and licensed by Malta Gaming Authority and the UK Gambling Commission.
The casino describes itself as “Your favourite provider of luck” which is a charming little slogan, but doesn’t really mean much. Contrary to this claim, luck is not, in fact, provided by this popular online casino, but a myriad of exciting games and promotions are, which makes for a reasonable substitute.
Launched in January 2015, 21 Casino has had a fair while to find its place in the online casino world at this point, but the problem is the release of new sites has never been as prolific as it is in the current market, so even sites that have established themselves as competitive in this busy marketplace are at risk of fading into the background as new contenders to the throne arrive on the scene and fight to take the sites of the places like 21 Casino have carved out for themselves.
This means that there is no space for 21 Casino to rest on its laurels, it is necessary for this online casino to keep evolving to at least maintain its position, if not improve it. 21 Casino has done well up to this point to keep its head above water, but is this likely to continue as the online casino world becomes increasingly competitive?
Design and theme
A black and gold colour scheme is nothing we haven’t seen before, in fact, this is arguably the most utilised combination of colours that the online casino scene has.
If a site wants to put forward the ideas of decadence, affluence, and sophistication, then black and gold is almost always the way, meaning that any site which uses this concept is immediately going to look derivative. At least, that’s who it’s supposed to work.
21 Casino has found a way to completely flip the script by creating a black and gold adorned site that is both unique and attractive. There’s nothing original in terms of what’s included here, but the execution and artwork create something that doesn’t feel like anything we’ve ever seen before.
Chalkboard-style drawn images of roulette wheels and chips make up the background, while the banner at the top of the page brings together various images from popular games, as well as an elegant blue curtain, and advertises the impressive selection of promotions that 21 Casino has to offer.
The thumbnails in the centre of the homepage could benefit from something aside from their white background, which doesn’t quite fit in with the design scheme, but outside of that, this site is aesthetically exquisite.
It would be a shame if a site that looked this good was let down by its selection of games (something we have seen countless times before) but there is no such concern here.
The wide array of titles available at 21 Casino come from the likes of 1X2 Network, BetSoft, Blueprint Gaming, ELK Studios, Evolution, Ezugi, Felt, Greentube, Leander Games, Microgaming, NetEnt, NextGen Gaming, NYX Gaming, Quickspin, Stars Group, and Thunderkick, a veritable list of software giants that guarantees you will never not find something that suits your mood when it comes to 21 Casino.
A host of video slots (including jackpot slots), an abundance of table games, and an excellent live casino would be enough to keep players happy here, but with video poker, bingo, scratchcards, and virtual betting also thrown in, players at 21 Casino are positively spoilt.
It is true that it is becoming more and more difficult for a popular site to stay ahead of the crowd of new and established sites that exist, but 21 Casino has all the tools to do just that.
