The point of the conference was to discuss the most relevant and significant issues that currently affect, or threaten to affect the world of iGaming.Obviously, gambling addiction and self-exclusion are always towards the top of the list in such discussions. However, the overriding focus of the 2016 conference is apparently Europe-facing.Unibet Help With Gambling ProblemThe conference hoped to find easier and more efficient ways to analyse data that integrate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Customer Relation Management (CRM) and Responsible Gaming (RG).The aim is to adapt current RG methods where possible, and make changes where necessary, to ensure that the most responsible gaming practices are being followed throughout Europe, the conference also looked to take influence and ideas from those involved in US, Canadian, and Australian markets.

Keynote

The keynote speaker for the event was Sarah Harrison, MBE, Chief Executive of the UK Gambling Commission.Harrison’s speech focused on creating one, unified voice for the identifying and solving of problems within the industry.“Operators are in a good position to help tackle gambling related harm” said Harrison during her speech, going on to invite operators to donate more time and money to the cause of helping those with gambling problems.Harrison said there is still a huge gap between the money spent on advertising, and that spent on helping those with gambling problems, a gap which she claims can be closed, adding: “Britain can be the leader in this area”.
