LeoVegas, alongside many other high profile casino and betting operators, has been under pressure for some time to increase awareness of the actions of affiliates.Over recent years, there have been numerous cases of the affiliates of well-known operators breaking advertising laws and regulations, apparently without the operator themselves having knowledge, something that there is demand to stop.Responding to the calls, LeoVegas has announced that it will be deploying Wag.io software, designed to boost oversight.
Compliance
The addition of the software is LeoVegas’ newest effort to comply with the requirements and regulations of both the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC).Speaking of the addition, Matthew Curmi, Sales and Compliance Executive at LeoVegas, said:“While our goal is to be fully compliant, when an error is found, we can use the app to rapidly reach out to our affiliates about making an immediate correction.”Curmi also explained that Wag.io would make it substantially easier to “constantly monitor and review” the actions of affiliates.Roo Wright, the CEO and founder of Wag.io, outlined the purpose of the software, explaining:“Our clients use Wag.io for compliance, as well as to find and manage new opportunities.“Specifically, Wag.io enables clients to manage affiliates with a CRM built specifically for that task; identify new opportunities with new and existing affiliates; monitor affiliate activity, including deals and promotional materials; and generate communication and activity reports and automatically create a paper trail.”
First of many
With both the ASA and the UKGC clamping down on unethical or irresponsible advertising and promotions, we are likely to see many other operators adding Wag.io or similar software to make it easier and quicker for them to ensure that they and any affiliates are constantly complying with regulation.
