With a name like Volt Casino, you are probably expecting a world of adrenalin-fuelled, high octane online casino action, but you will be surprised by what you get here.
Coming from Fair Play Bets, the network behind Diamond World Casino and VegasPlay Casino, Volt Casino is the third addition to the portfolio for the up and coming operator.
Up until this point, online casinos from Fair Play Bets have been okay, they’ve not offered enough in terms of games and their designs have been pretty derivative, but in the early stages, playing it safe is sometimes the best option.
There is little time for this in an industry as competitive as the iGaming market, however, and with Volt Casino, Fair Play Bets have to bring something fresh and exciting to the table if they have any chance of succeeding.
That’s a lot of pressure for a new site, Volt Casino doesn’t only have to impress, it has to impress enough to put the name of Fair Play Bets on the map, and that’s no easy task.
However, Volt Casino has a trick up its sleeve, and that trick is gamification.
Creating missions and a narrative throughout an online casino site, with players earning rewards for playing their favourite games, while simultaneously continue the story, has proved immensely popular for the likes of Kaboo and Ikibu, but is still rarely seen.
Volt Casino looks to capitalise on the relatively small pool of gamification casinos, and put its name among the best of them, but can it accomplish that?
Design and theme
As said above, the design here is not necessarily what you’d expect from a site with the name Volt Casino.
Instead of striking images of electricity and high intensity artwork everywhere, Volt Casino goes for a stylised, abstract approach.
The Blue and green colour scheme, while a surprise, works nicely with the concept that is taken here, and the logo is simple, yet effective, something that is not as easy to do as it sounds (as proven by a multitude of online casinos which have tried).
The gamification aspect is good fun, playing games and completing missions gives you Volt Points, which can then be exchanged for bonus spins (with no attached wagering requirement) or cash depending on your preference.
It’s not the most complex gamification feature we’ve seen, but it does the job.
Outside of that, navigation is simple, with Volt Casino avoiding the trap of getting too caught up in the gamification aspect and forgetting to create an easy to use site.
Thumbnails allow instant access to popular games, and all parts of the site, and information about Volt Casino, are simple to locate.
While Volt Casino shows a big step forward for design from Fair Play Bets site, the progress in terms of the games on offer, while moving in the right direction, is doing so at a slower speed.
Titles coming from BF Games, BetConstruct, Fugaso, NetEnt, Play'n GO, Playson, Microgaming, and Wazdan are simply not enough to compete with the established names of the industry.
This is a step up from previous Play Fair Bets online casinos, and it’s still early, more deals could be struck, and more games could be added, but if that is going to happen, it would be in the operator’s best interest for it to happen soon.
Until that moment comes, Volt Casino can only feel like an online casino with potential, and it is undoubtedly brimming with potential.
Perhaps too much was tried too early, but with a few tweaks to the gamification and the addition of more games, that could be rectified.
