Launched in March of 2018, Rise Casino entered an online casino industry that is one of the very toughest markets in the world to crack.
As has been proven by many fresh-faced online casinos over recent years, it is all too easy for a brand new site to fall by the wayside almost immediately if a way isn’t found to make an immediate impact, despite the levels of competition.
That gave Rise Casino quite the job when it entered the market, to instantly be good enough to at least stand up with the established casinos that dominate the online industry.
It’s a big ask, in fairness, but it’s always nice to see an online casino that at least feels like it’s tried to accomplish it, which is not the impression you get from Rise Casino.
The latest addition to the Tau network of casino sites, Rise Casino certainly has a legacy behind it, and that commands a certain degree of respect on arrival, but that respect has to be maintained, and it takes effort to do that.
First impressions are important in the online casino world, but they are not everything, so let’s dig a little deeper and see if we Rise Casino can surprise us with what is on offer.
Design and theme
The main aspect of Rise Casino that could well be immediately off putting to players is the design, which is quite frankly terrible.
The ClipArt style logo, combined with an awful blotchy coloured background, which is all topped off by far more colours than any one design concept should ever had, would be bad enough, but it actually accomplishes more than that.
The design of Rise Casino is exceptional, not in anything like a good way, but because with all of that colour and ugly design splashed everywhere making the site look like someone invented a random button for Photoshop and got a bit too excited by it, even with all of that, this site still manages to look boring, and that’s genuinely impressive.
Navigation is simple enough here, but that is also true of almost every other online casino, and most of those can’t hold a candle to how utterly dismal the look of Rise Casino is.
Thumbnails on the homepage are helpful but, again, are also expected, and every font and every additional bit of artwork (if you can call it that) just succeeds in any another layer to the awful.
Games
It is fair to say that the games on offer at Rise Casino have a lot to do to make up for the atrocious design concept, and while there is a decent selection here, it probably isn’t enough to do that.
With titles coming from the likes of 888 Holdings, Bally Wulff, Eyecon, IGT, NetEnt, NextGen Gaming, PariPlay, SG Digital, SG Gaming, Thunderkick, and Williams Interactive, there is certainly a lot of choice on offer here.
Slot fans will find a host of top quality slots including a plethora of old favourites and a strong collection of new releases.
There are also table and card games, and a handful of other games to choose from, but it’s hard to get excited about the choice on offer when it is packaged in such a horrific parcel.
Rise Casino is a perfect example of how to not make a splash when you enter a competitive industry, it is almost embarrassing how derivative, unattractive, and free of any level of actual effort this online casino feels.
There’s a fair few good games, yes, but that’s true at most other sites, and they’re all nicer to look at than this one.
