As of late, there have been signs that Nektan may be improving, may finally be moving away from releasing nothing but clones, an endless stream of sites that have nothing to separate them except name and (sometimes) colour scheme.

For a long time, we have all known exactly what to expect from a Nektan site, but that may be slowly becoming less true, some of the time at least.

Enter Planet Fruity, a site which proves that Nektan still have a long way to go, because this is an online casino that very much marks a return to form for the operator, with nothing new going on here at all.

While the likes of Slot Strike have shown some kind of potential, creating a low level sense of optimism that something may be changing, Planet Fruity reminds us all that not only is there a long way to go, but there is also the chance that Nektan have no intention of putting the necessary effort in to get there, especially when it’s so easy to create another production line online casino like they have here.

Combining the names of other popular sites to attempt to create a site that suggests some level of quality is a see-through and unimpressive trick, and still may be the least disappointing part of this entire online casino site.

Design and theme

If you’ve seen a Nektan site before, then the chances are you know exactly what Planet Fruity looks like.

The logo, which is traditionally immensely disappointing, is actually not too bad here. It’s not great, it hardly even makes it to good, but it’s okay, the font is simple enough and the picture of a rocket ship looks like ClipArt, to be fair, the fact that this logo feels like a step up is more of a testament to how atrocious previous efforts have been.

Beyond that it’s all the same, the layout sees thumbnails on the homepage appearing in the exact same order as they do at other sites on the network, a basic background does little to separate Planet Fruity from any other Nektan site.

The categories down the left hand side of the page are also the same as those we’ve seen before, bringing the odd combination of ease of navigation, but also a design that is derivative, but only because it’s the same thing that Nektan have done so many times before.

It’s hard to understand, in an industry where standing out is of the utmost importance, why Nektan don’t even take the time to ensure that their online casino sites stand out from each other.
