Casino GB

Casino GB Review

Casino GB is now closed

There’s a surprising number of online casino sites based on Great Britain, and Casino GB from ProgressPlay Ltd is one of the latest to join the pack.

ProgressPlay are arguably the most hit and miss operator around, often falling foul of their own necessity to release as many online casinos as possible as opposed to focusing on taking the time to create a site worthy of playing at.

That being said, this is an operator more than capable of hitting the bullseye every now and again as the likes of Hippozino and others prove, so it’s worth standing up and taking notice when a new site from ProgressPlay arrives on the scene.

In terms of theme, Great Britain is one that has not proved successful for many, while the likes of All British Casino have their customer base, it never seems to quite work.

The political landscape of the time does not put Great Britain high in the estimations of many either, especially not in Europe, which probably doesn’t help much either.

But if there’s one thing that’s been true over the years in terms of online casino sites, it is not the theme itself, but the execution of it that makes the difference.

Design and theme

We have come to expect certain clichés when it comes to sites themed around the UK, landmarks, red buses, phone boxes, black cabs, anything that brings to mind Great Britain, and usually London more specifically.

It is, therefore, somewhat refreshing that none of this is present at Casino GB, but it gets a bit confusing as it doesn’t seem to have been replaced by anything at all.

Short of the logo including a red G and a blue B, there is nothing else here that represents the chosen theme of the site in any way at all.

Instead, what you get is a sleek black colour scheme that looks classy and professional, which is fine, but is also immensely confusing given the name of the site.

The banner across the top of the page scrolls through various images, but again, nothing even vaguely British turns up here at all.

Navigation is easy enough, the simple (read basic if you prefer) design concept makes sure of that, but there really isn’t much to impress anybody here, and that’s a real shame.

Games

ProgressPlay have been around for a while and have done a solid job of inking deals with the best software developers around to ensure they are offering the very best games to their players, and Casino GB does a good job of this too.

With titles coming from 1X2 Network, Betdigital, Big Time Gaming, Blueprint Gaming, ELK Studios, Extreme Live Gaming, Gamevy, Genesis Gaming, Microgaming, NetEnt, NextGen Gaming, SG Digital, SG Gaming, and Thunderkick there’s more than enough here to keep even the pickiest player busy.

That being said, there could be more, the likes of Playtech and Yggdrasil are just two of the missing names on this list, and this casino is going to need to fill those gaps if it has any chance of impressing.

The selection of games is good enough, the design is confusing, but not unattractive, but that’s about all that can be said.

Casino GB is a mediocre site, and given the competitive nature of the modern industry, mediocre just won’t cut it.
