Yggdrasil has been working hard to gain international licenses through 2016, and they have now become the latest iGaming company to secure licenses in the new Romanian market. The licenses mean that the company will be able to supply Romanian based operators with slots and promotional tools.
ONJN
After a careful review of their services, Romania’s National Gambling Office (ONJN) cleared Yggdrasil for the services listed above.Having been recently accredited by the UK, Malta, and Gibraltar, Yggdrasil has now become one of the first operators to gain Romanian licenses, as the market was only opened up to foreign operators in the middle of last year (2015). Fredrik Elmqvist, Chief Executive at Yggdrasil, said of the mew licenses:“It is fantastic news that Yggdrasil slots will now be available to customers in Romania.“Gaining this licence underlines our commitment to local and regulated markets. We are working hard to strategically expand our jurisdictional reach and expect to see our licensed European footprint continue to expand.”With the speed that Yggdrasil has been gaining licenses throughout Europe, it is difficult to argue with Elmqvist’s opinion.
New releases
Operators within Romania who hold a Romanian Category One license will have access to a selection of Yggdrasil titles, including the newly released Bicicleta, with the rest of the provider’s portfolio due to follow very soon.Outside of their impressive collection of games, operators within the country will also have the ability to take advantage of Yggdrasil’s tools including BOOST and BRAG, which is the company’s social media focused tool.Such a license and the software that will therefore be provided to Romanian based operators by Yggdrasil should result in a mutually beneficial arrangement, as Romanian operators improve the tools at their disposal, and Yggdrasil continue to expand their European market presence.
