Mr Green will soon be adding a sportsbook to their portfolio later this year and have also promoted their former chief executive Svenska Spel as their new CEO in Malta.
20% Increase In Revenue
Late last week, Mr Green revealed a 20% increase in 2015 revenues and said they hope to launch a third-party powered sportsbook later in 2016, although we’re not sure whether it’ll be available in time for the European Championships in June.Per Norman, Mr Green’s AB chief executive, told analysts that the operator would rather “do it [launch a sportsbook] properly rather than do it quick and fast for the European Championships.”“This is a natural expansion of our offering since a large number of our current casino customers also play some form of sports betting,” Norman continued. “We recognise substantial potential for Mr Green to grow on this market also.”
Competition
The reveal is sure to fuel competition between sportsbook providers hoping to work with Mr Green, who’s own rival LeoVegas announced a sportsbook with Kambi.Mr Green also announced that Wänghammar is staying with the casino to work on “special projects”.“It is also with great pleasure that we can name Jesper Kärrbrink as the new CEO for the Malta-based Mr Green Ltd,” Norman stated.“Jesper is a driven leader with extensive experience of online and traditional gaming companies. He will assume the role after the summer, at which point the current CEO Bo Wänghammar will continue with other assignments within the Mr Green Group.“During his time as CEO of Mr Green, Bo has established an organisation, product and platform of absolute world-class. With these as our foundations allied with Jesper’s focus on growth, we are well equipped to meet the challenges of the coming years.”
