Most of us have heard of James Packer because he was dating the very famous Mariah Carey. James Packer is a multi-billionaire from Australia and was the director of his casino empire Crown Resorts.Recently, James packer has taken the decision to step down from his own company, this is due to mental health reasons. The move has shocked many within the industry as well as within his own company. The move also comes as we hear shares in his company have recently fallen by 1.4%.An official statement was released from the ASX (The Australian Stock Exchange) listed gaming and entertainment group saying “Mr Packer had stepped down as director for personal reasons”.It was a spokesman from Consolidated Press Holdings, a private corporate vehicle of the Packer family, who revealed he was “suffering from mental health issues” and that he intended to step back from all commitments.

It’s the first time Mr Packer, who is one of Australia’s richest people, has stepped down from Crown’s board. Back in 2015, he resigned as chairman and director to focus on development projects in Australia and the US. To then rejoin the board in August of the same year.His resignation comes after a tumultuous period for the billionaire. The engagement was called off from singer Mariah carey back in 2016 and then he was caught up in a scandal involving Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyhu.
