All MGM, Wynn Resorts, Caesars, Cosmopolitan and more hotels are due to close as of this week and will possibly not reopen until 1st May 2020.
Casinos On Lockdown
With growing concerns about the rapid rate at which the Coronavirus is spreading and the first death being reported in Las Vegas, many casinos are going into lockdown. The general public are avoiding public places and mass gatherings on the back of the advice of the US government. Tourism has diminished drastically since international and domestic airlines have either been banned or reduced.Large events and gatherings such as festivals, concerts and sports events have already been cancelled to stop the spread of the virus.Sahara Las Vegas has already begun to ‘lay off’ staff in a bid to secure its overall future amidst uncertain times. Several employers were told on Monday morning their contracts would be terminated. This is a direct result from the drop in numbers due to the Coronavirus. Sahara Las Vegas will continue to evaluate operations with the hope of reinstating many members of staff.Las Vegas Casinos closing are:

Some of these casinos closed as of Monday 16th March with others to close by this Friday 27th March 2020.Las Vegas Casinos staying open are:

- The Strat
- Golden Nugget
- The Venetian
- Four Queens
- Paris
- Circus Circus
- Flamingo
As of 17th March 2020, the above casinos will remain open in a bid to save jobs and the longevity of the business. However, extra precautions and social distancing will be practiced in order to minimise the overall spread and risk of the virus.But as the virus spreads, the impact could mean the imminent closure of the above casinos too.
