With a name like Chelsea Palace, one would assume that this new online casino would be themed around all things affluent.
Sometimes, this can go well, sometimes however, it doesn’t, and that’s why there are countless identical looking black and gold casino sites floundering in obscurity.
However, Chelsea Palace does not belong in either of these groups. Not because this site is doing anything different, in fact, quite the opposite, this is a Nektan casino, so it does very little at all.
It has got to a point where Nektan sites can only really be compared to other Nektan sites, because there are so many inferior sites that are near clones of each other on the network already, that any new site from Nektan has no chance of making any impact on the wider industry.
The only question that comes with a new Nektan site is this, if you play at a Nektan site, is this Nektan site a better Nektan site than the Nektan site that you play at.
So that’s the question we have to answer here, how does Chelsea Palace stand up against the many other disappointing sites that are available from the same operator?
Design and theme
What has been said above may seem unfair, that is, until you take a look at Chelsea Palace and realise that all we have is more of the same here.
The logo is dull and unimpressive, and between that and the black and brown colour scheme (it’s probably supposed to be gold, but it’s closer to brown) that is where the original design work ends.
Past that you have a banner across the top of the homepage that shows images from popular games as well as some images that are used across the Nektan portfolio.
Scrolling down further and you will find that not only are game categories in the same place and in the same order as they are at every other Nektan site, the thumbnails on the homepage are also in the same order, meaning this site, again, has absolutely nothing new outside of a bad logo and an awful colour scheme.
Navigation is simple enough, because navigation is always simple enough at Nektan sites, but by this point, you probably already know that, and you also know that it certainly isn’t enough to make up for the generally disappointing look of the rest of the site.
Chelsea Palace, aesthetically, is poor even for a Nektan site, and that’s really saying something.
The games portfolio at Nektan sites is always impressive, but, once again, the shine is taken off a little because it’s the same portfolio at every site on the network.
That is, of course, the case here, with titles coming from 1X2 Network, Aristocrat Gaming, Big Time Gaming, Blueprint Gaming, Core Gaming, edict egaming, ELK Studios, Evolution, Extreme Live Gaming, Felt, Gamevy, IWG, IGT, Nektan, NetEnt, NextGen Gaming, Pragmatic Play, Microgaming, Realistic Games, Red Tiger Gaming, SG Digital, SG Gaming, and Williams Interactive.
Slots, table games, live dealer titles, and instant win options are all available here, so there’s something to suit everybody, but it’s not new, and that makes it impossible to get excited about.
It is sad to think that if Nektan put all the energy they put into creating multiple online casino sites most months, and instead focused their attention on maybe one or two per year, that something really special could be created, but today isn’t that day.
